How to Read Battery Capacity with Autel AP200?

Image
Background One of the most important, expensive, and worrisome components of any electric vehicle is the high-voltage battery that propels the vehicle. These batteries, although designed for long life, will deteriorate over time and affect vehicle range performance. All manufacturers are required to provide a warranty for the HV batteries. For the Clarity, this warranty is 8 years, 100K miles in most states. It increases to 10 years, 150K miles if your vehice is registered and normally operated in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington. In the case of the Clarity, the specifics of the HV battery warranty are based on a capacity measurement of the battery expressed in ampere-hours (Ah). This warranty is spelled out in the pre-delivery checklist (17-093) that is supposed to be provided to all new owners. The nominal battery capacity for a new vehicle is 55 Ah, and Honda def...

Autel AP200 Review on Benz 38-PIN W163 W210

Autel AP200M BT dongle   is the most affordable and portable scanner. Good coverage, very good shareable reports in PDF format. Included in price EOBD and one car line. MaxiAp200 app software installation simple and easy. Very large download. Uses 3.65 GB of internal storage. HT200 is the same as AP200. But it will not support 38 pin adapter to scan Mercedes-Benz W210s. It will only do an EOBD to limited access ECU only. Users have tried AP200M on W163, W164, W166, X166 and W210. Works like a champ. AP200M (red dongle) can support all these, so as AP200 (the white dongle). Autel AP200  is better because it has lifetime support for a single make (no yearly fees at all for the first brand). Additional brands will cost $21.99 per year. AP200M only one year subscription for a single brand, 19.99$ later.   The advantage is with the AP200 you get lifetime full support for the first vehicle, rather than one year with AP200M. The 38-pin adapter is available on obdii36...

DIY Replace 2016 Boxster S Battery Replacement with Autel AP200

Car model and year: 2016 Boxster S   Purpose: replace the battery Because the car had reached a ripe old age of 5 years and 6 months this week (late July 2015 build date for the car). ever so slightly slower crank speed when starting the engine cold.   What to do next? Option 1. go to Porsche dealer Called my favorite Porsche dealer. They wanted $416.95 including tax for just the battery and "$165 to $250" for labor "depending on what the car requires".   Option 2. Buy a battery for $200 online first Step 1. One of my favorite shop has one for $200 that appears to be an exact replica of the OEM battery, right down to the Ah rating and cold cranking amps. Same dimensions, same exact external physical features. So I buy it online and take my old battery over to compare it. Put it side-by-side and yes, it's 100% identical including the 70 Ah rating and 760 CCA. Done.   Step 2. take the new battery to the Porsche dealer for "adaptation" the new batte...

Autel AP200 Review on Dodge Caravan Grand

I bought the Autel AP200 Bluetooth OBD2 Scanner , I'm glad! The manufacturer promises that Autel AP200 is capable of identifying DTCs for "Check Engine" from control units since 1996 of domestic and foreign cars. The AP200 has the functions of oil reset, battery registration and reset, parking brake part release and diesel particulate filter regeneration. Of course, it turns off the MIL engine warning lamp and resets service intervals and control counters, similar to those used at service stations for diagnosing cars and other motorized equipment, and the main functionality is similar to the Launch adapters. You need this to update the software and work the downloaded software, to check the systems with an adapter via Bluetooth or using a Wi-fi connection. In general, for a while AUTEL AP200 became a lightweight alternative to the more expensive Launch, which I once did not buy, as long as there was an opportunity to do it economically ... they will completely cover i...

Autel AP200 Scanner Review on Kia Optima

Image
I got myself an Autel AP200 obd2 diagnostic scanner . I ordered it from obdii365.com , the package arrived in about a week. With regards to software, there are two options. Either download the official MaxiAP200 application from the market, where 1 free brand software will be available, the rest of the brands for $ 15 (for android), or go unofficially, where all brands will be available. I decided to go unofficially, since there are several options for opening all brands on google.  As a result, we get a scanner with all open brands that do not need to be renewed every year, with the same functionality as in the official version, download the required brand and that's it. Now with regards to the work of the scanner on the Kia Optima, what can he do. When diagnosing, it sees 18 modules.  (For example, ELM 327 sees only the engine, and the same 18 modules, which is not bad at all), namely: 1) Engine 2) Automatic transmission 3) Airbags 4) BCM (body system control unit) 5)...
